By widening the spectrum of sound that wearers experience, the binax gives wearers both a better sense of spatial awareness and speech recognition.Īdditionally, the binax has improved upon features such as Narrow Directionality (which allows wearers to hone in on specific sounds), Spatial Speech Focus (which manages background noise and speech recognition), and eWindScreen binaural (which transfers audio data from one ear to another in windy situations). The binax hearing aid utilizes e2e technology, which uses four microphones that create an eight-microphone network between two ears. Results from two independent studies show that people who wore binax could hear better in certain situations than people with normal hearing. Introduced in 2014, the Siemens binax is the world’s first hearing aid to outperform normal hearing in challenging noise situations.
